Please complete and submit only one of the applications below. A $50 nonrefundable fee is required with each option. Please note: Veterans and spouses of veterans will have their application fee waived.
Please be aware that the Common Application and the ApplySUNY Application list two SUNY Buffalo institutions. Make sure you select the University at Buffalo when you complete your forms, or your application might go to the wrong school.
UB requires your high school transcript or completion of your Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR). To complete your SRAR, follow the link in your UB Applicant Status Page.
UB strongly recommends one letter of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, community member or employer. While only one is recommended, you may choose to submit up to three.
UB is test optional and supports SUNY's decision to make the submission of SAT and ACT test scores optional for undergraduate admissions consideration. Students can share their scores as part of their application if they choose by selecting this option on their application. If submitting scores, SAT or ACT standardized test scores must be submitted directly from the testing agency. UB’s SAT code is 2925. The ACT code is 2978. UB welcomes students from all backgrounds, and every application goes through the same holistic review process.
Our Early Action option is designed for students who have identified UB as their intended college choice. The deadline for Early Action applications is Nov. 1. Early Action plans are nonbinding; candidates will receive an early response to their application, but they do not have to commit to the university until May 1.
We will send you an email with a unique link to your Applicant Status Page, where you can monitor your application status. You are strongly encouraged to check this page regularly for updates about your application.
